As with other tissues in the body, the skin in the facial area begins to lose elasticity and develop sagging and wrinkles due to the effects of aging, sun damage, environmental factors, diet, and genetics. Resorption of the facial bone structure also contributes to the development of the signs of aging in the face.
What can be corrected with a facelift and neck lift?
– Sagging and drooping of the eyebrows, along with wrinkles on the forehead,
– Excess skin on the eyelids is removed, and puffiness is corrected,
– Tissue accumulation and sagging around the mouth, nose, and chin are treated.

Since the eyelids are also affected by aging, eyelid surgery is often performed in conjunction with facelift and neck lift procedures. Volume loss is treated with fat grafting.
In a facelift, the tissues beneath the skin (fascia) are tightened, and excess skin is removed.
Incisions are planned along the hairline or within the scalp. Depending on the extent of the procedure, scars may extend to the front and back of the ears. There may also be an incision under the chin. During the same procedure, fat tissue harvested from other areas of the body can be transferred to the cheeks, temples, forehead, lips, and chin. Since fat tissue is the tissue in the body with the highest concentration of stem cells, the transferred fat tissue also provides the stem cell therapy needed for skin rejuvenation.
SURGERY AND PROCESS
A facelift is performed under general anesthesia. After the surgery, there may be varying degrees of swelling and bruising on the face. The stitches are removed around the 10th day. The patient can shower one or two days after the procedure. They return to work in about two weeks.
The patient sees the results immediately after surgery. However, it may take one to two months for the swelling to subside, for the injected fat tissue to settle, and for the final results to become apparent.
While the results of a face and neck lift are long-lasting and permanent, it is important to remember that the effects of aging continue over time.
